TORO
Toro is the tragicomic odyssey of Rocco and Angelo, two friends navigating the challenges of adulthood in their late thirties and the struggles faced by a new generation of young men.
After the breakdown of yet another romantic relationship, Rocco, a disillusioned film director living in Berlin, returns to his small Italian hometown to reassess his views about manhood. Why are his relationships with women always so difficult? He reconnects with Angelo, a former schoolmate who embodies the traditional ideals of masculinity: strong, resolute and principled—a true “toro.” Despite his outward confidence, however, Angelo's life is far from perfect. He still lives with his mother, struggles with unemployment and faces mounting pressure to start a family with his girlfriend, Paola. While documenting Angelo’s journey, Rocco decides to test the “Toro” lifestyle himself, finding a new girlfriend and experiencing a renewed sense of purpose. However, when this model of masculinity begins to crumble, Rocco realises that the answers to his questions lie much deeper than he had anticipated. Toro is a heartfelt exploration of modern manhood and personal growth, blending drama and comedy as they collide on the unpredictable stage of life.
